Italian loudspeaker specialist Diapason has unveiled its latest creation — the Didascalia, a robust floorstanding model that premiered at the recent Warsaw Audio Video Show.
The Didascalia joins Diapason’s Reference Series and is described by the manufacturer as an “absolute high-end project without compromise.” Combining Italian craftsmanship, hand-built precision, and original in-house design, the speaker embodies both artistry and engineering excellence.
The cabinet is constructed from HDF and high-pressure multilayer Baltic birch plywood, reinforced internally with carefully placed braces for maximum mechanical stability. The front baffle is covered in eco-leather, and meticulous time alignment between the tweeter and midrange ensures optimal coherence — designed to deliver peak performance from a listening distance of about two meters.
Vibration control is handled through a set of precision spikes and an optimized suspension system. Driver configuration consists of a 29 mm tweeter and a 180 mm mid-woofer, complemented by dual racetrack-shaped passive radiators mounted on the sides to extend bass response below 40 Hz.
The crossover network is hand-wired point-to-point using only premium components, including Jantzen C-Coil inductors, Mundorf Supreme EVO silver/gold/oil capacitors, and Mundorf M-Resist resistors.
The Diapason Didascalia offers a frequency response from 35 Hz to 30,000 Hz, nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a recommended amplifier power range between 50 and 250 watts. Bi-wiring capability is also supported.
