The new Topping D900 immediately takes the position of flagship DAC in the manufacturer’s lineup — and it comes complete with an integrated preamplifier.
You can use the Topping D900 purely as a traditional DAC, or as a DAC/preamplifier combo. In the latter case, it can be connected directly to a power amplifier, with the built-in volume control providing convenient adjustment. There’s also a fixed-level line output, ideal for connection to an integrated amplifier.
Under the hood, the D900 employs Topping’s proprietary PSRM conversion technology for digital-to-analog conversion. According to the company, this design minimizes the impact of the power supply, ensuring exceptional accuracy and ultra-low noise levels.
The maximum supported resolution is 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM and DSD512. Input options include two USB ports, two coaxial, two optical, AXLR, and HDMI. Outputs are provided via dual XLR connectors, among others. Wireless connectivity is also covered, with Bluetooth supporting LDAC and aptX Adaptive codecs.
A solid aluminum remote control is included for added convenience.
The Topping D900 DAC is available now at a retail price of £1,799.
