The name may be quite a mouthful, but the new Deco Audio Products Governor Standard Turntable Power Supply is designed to give your turntable a serious upgrade in the power department.
A clean, stable, noise-free power supply is essential for analogue audio—particularly for turntables. That’s where the Governor Standard comes in. This turntable PSU is fully analogue in design; you won’t find any DSP chips or digital control circuitry inside. According to the manufacturer, this approach ensures an extremely stable, low-noise power signal for turntable motors.
The unit provides a selector switch for 33⅓ rpm and 45 rpm, each with fine-tuning options. The maximum output power is 3 watts, which is sufficient for most smaller turntables. Deco Audio Products states that the power supply is compatible with a wide range of decks, including models from Rega. If you happen to own a 24-volt Rega motor, you’ll need an optional adapter cable. The main requirement is that your turntable uses an AC motor, in which case the Governor Standard should work seamlessly in many setups.
