Piega has introduced the new flagship model in its Premium series: the Premium 801 tower speaker.
The Piega Premium 801 is a floorstanding loudspeaker housed in an ultra-rigid aluminium cabinet, which—according to the manufacturer—is formed under a massive pressure of 5,000 tons. This process results in an exceptionally stiff, low-resonance enclosure. Inside, reinforcement ribs run along the length of the cabinet, supported by a damping layer and a newly developed wood matrix designed to deliver greater calm and stability. The midrange driver sits in its own sealed chamber, while the four bass drivers operate together in a bass-reflex system. High frequencies are handled by a ribbon tweeter (type RM 01-24), positioned behind a horn. A newly tuned crossover has also been developed, based on the brand’s well-known FSD concept.
According to Piega, the Premium 801 is easy to drive with a wide range of amplifiers—from powerful solid-state designs to modern Class D and even tube amplifiers. For those who want to fine-tune their setup, both bi-wiring and bi-amping are supported.
The speaker will be available in a silver anodised aluminium finish for €4,950 each, or a black anodised version for €5,250 each. Matching spikes can be purchased for €495 or €525, respectively.
