Soulnote has introduced the new Series 1 Version 2, consisting of amplifiers, D/A converters and phono-related electronics.
With the new SOULNOTE Series 1 Ver.2, the Japanese high-end manufacturer presents a completely revised generation of amplifiers, D/A converters and phono electronics. “The models A-1 Ver.2, D-1 Ver.2 and E-1 Ver.2 translate key development principles from the larger series into a more compact format, combining precise circuitry, consistent resonance control and intelligent power supply concepts to create an exceptionally coherent sound character. The aim of all these measures is the most faithful possible reproduction of the temporal structure of music—with clear spatial organization, natural dynamics and precise tonal colors,” explains Theo Wubbolts of the Dutch importer in his announcement.
According to SOULNOTE, the Series 1 Ver.2 follows the company’s fundamental philosophy of minimizing interference with the music signal. Wubbolts explains: “Rather than relying on negative feedback and digital correction, precision and stability are achieved through design measures:
- Discrete circuits without negative feedback (non-NFB) for direct impulse transmission
- Short, reduced signal paths to minimize time-domain distortion
- Non-impregnated toroidal transformers for high current delivery and low magnetic damping
- Targeted resonance suppression through specially designed components
- Mechanically and electrically isolated power supply sections for stable micro- and macrodynamics”
According to Wubbolts, all of these measures pursue a single goal: “a sound reproduction that is open, precise and free from harshness—without hardness, compression or structural instability.”
The units are handmade in Japan and available in black and silver.
