British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins has been announced as the new main partner of Record Store Day Benelux. And with the next edition just around the corner, the timing is spot on.
“With this collaboration, both parties underline their ambition to place the quality of the music experience at the center. The partnership is part of an international collaboration that also includes Record Store Day UK,” the manufacturer states in its announcement.
“With Bowers & Wilkins, the organization brings on board a leading audio brand known worldwide for its high-quality sound. The brand’s top-tier loudspeakers have been used for decades in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London,” the press release continues. “Bowers & Wilkins represents a strong connection between those who create music and those who enjoy it. That’s exactly what Record Store Day is about as well,” says Esther Vollebregt, director of Record Store Day. “This collaboration helps us further enrich that experience, both in record stores and beyond.”
Bowers & Wilkins also emphasizes the importance of the partnership. The company believes music is best experienced as it was intended to be heard: “With Record Store Day, we can further expand that shared experience. Through this collaboration, initiatives will be developed that strengthen the connection between vinyl or CD and high-quality audio. Both parties hope this will lay a solid foundation for expanding the partnership in the years to come.”
