Mark Levinson has introduced the new No 600 Series. The first Reference Level models to be unveiled are the No 626 preamplifier and the No 632 stereo power amplifier.
In addition to the new Mark Levinson No 626 and No 632, the company expects to launch the No 631 monoblock power amplifiers in July. And that will not be the end of the range. A new source component, among other products, is already planned for next year. The news was shared with us by Dutch importer Reference Sounds. According to the distributor, the new series has been developed to surpass both the No 500 Series and the limited-edition No 50 amplifiers, while bridging the gap between the much-loved 300 Series and the brand’s current design language.
Mark Levinson No 626 Preamplifier
While most audiophiles associate Mark Levinson primarily with powerful power amplifiers, the company’s very first product was actually a preamplifier. That heritage is clearly reflected in the new No 626.
The unit borrows heavily from technologies found in legendary models such as the No 320 and No 32, while incorporating modern components and contemporary engineering. Measuring nearly 49 cm deep, the No 626 is anything but compact. Beneath its distinctive chassis, complete with sculpted cooling vents and illuminated red LED logo, lies a fully balanced dual-mono design.
From the mains input onwards, the No 626 effectively splits into two completely separate amplifier sections arranged symmetrically. The power supply follows the same philosophy, featuring separate digital and analogue sections and extensive isolation to prevent interference.
Inputs
The No 626 offers two balanced XLR inputs, three single-ended RCA inputs and a dedicated Class A phono stage supporting both MM and MC cartridges. Digital connectivity is equally comprehensive, including AES/EBU and asynchronous USB-C inputs.
At the heart of the digital section is the newly developed Precision Link III DAC, based around the ESS Sabre ES9039PRO 8-channel Hyperstream IV converter, combined with discrete Mark Levinson signal processing and jitter-elimination circuitry.
In addition to balanced and single-ended outputs for connection to a power amplifier, the No 626 also features a built-in Class A headphone amplifier.
The Mark Levinson No 626 has a recommended retail price of €24,990.
Mark Levinson No 632 Dual Mono Power Amplifier
The first Mark Levinson power amplifier, the legendary ML-2, became famous for its immense current delivery and load stability. The new No 632 follows that tradition, although its design language is reminiscent of the acclaimed 300 Series amplifiers.
Visible heatsinks flowing into the curved front panel evoke memories of the No 336, while the elegant glass fascia recalls the No 53. The top panel features the same circular design element found on the No 626, accented by red LEDs symbolising the amplifier’s internal “engine.”
Like the preamplifier, the No 632 employs a fully balanced dual-mono architecture. A custom-developed 1,900 VA low-noise toroidal transformer sits at the centre of the chassis and is isolated both mechanically and electromagnetically.
Power supply capacity is formidable, featuring no less than 80,000 µF of reservoir capacitance per channel. Mark Levinson has opted for minimal internal feedback and a high-bias operating point for the twelve high-bandwidth bipolar output transistors used in each channel.
The result is an amplifier designed to remain exceptionally linear and stable regardless of loudspeaker load.
Specifications include:
- 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms
- Less than 0.3% THD from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- 500 watts per channel into 4 ohms
- Full stability into 2-ohm loads
According to Reference Sounds, the combination of the No 626 and No 632 delivers extraordinary refinement, transparency and control, while retaining the effortless musicality for which classic Mark Levinson amplifiers have long been known.
The Mark Levinson No 632 carries a recommended retail price of €27,490.

Later this year, the No 600 Series will be expanded with the No 631 monoblock power amplifiers, inspired by the iconic No 33H. Each amplifier is expected to weigh more than 60 kilograms and continue the company’s tradition of no-compromise engineering.

The range will be expanded further in 2027, including the introduction of at least one new source component. As Mark Levinson itself seems intent on proving, true legends do not fade away—they simply evolve.
