The ULTIMA 25 ACTIVE 2 is the updated version of the popular loudspeaker classic from Berlin-based Teufel.
According to Teufel, its brand-new ULTIMA 25 ACTIVE 2 delivers ‘impressive stereo sound for TV, gaming and working from home – entirely without an external amplifier’. The system features HDMI ARC/CEC, DAB+ digital radio, an FM tuner, and high-quality Bluetooth streaming thanks to support for aptX and AAC. ‘With the new ULTIMA design, this ready-to-use all-in-one set combines the familiar sound with maximum versatility for everyday use,’ according to the manufacturer.
Incidentally, this is already the second generation of Teufel’s active stereo bookshelf speaker system. And being an all-in-one system, it therefore requires no external amplifier.
The main speaker houses an integrated power amplifier delivering 2 x 50 watts RMS, which according to its maker provides powerful, distortion-free reproduction in typical living spaces. Connectivity includes HDMI ARC/CEC for a direct connection to a TV, an optical digital input, AUX input, and an integrated USB-C sound card (DAC) for use with a PC.

‘A carefully tuned bass-reflex system provides the necessary low-frequency performance. As a result, the system is tuned for dynamic and neutral reproduction of music, movies and games. Meanwhile, the integrated Dynamore Virtual Center technology ensures optimal speech intelligibility.’
Ease of Use and Everyday Integration
Thanks to HDMI CEC, the speakers respond directly to the television’s remote control. Moreover, when a signal is detected, they automatically switch on from standby. Alternatively, the system can be operated using the touch sliders on top of the speaker or with the supplied remote control.
The dimmable OLED display shows current information such as the selected source, volume level, or chosen radio station.
Meanwhile, the redesigned enclosure is made from FSC-certified wood and features a clean-looking front. The ULTIMA 25 ACTIVE 2 is available in Night Black and Pure White.
