It’s finally here for real: the Clearaudio Compass GT turntable, which should fit effortlessly into the gadget collection of just about any gamer.
Of course, the Clearaudio Compass GT itself is anything but a gadget; it is a serious turntable. And certainly not a budget model either, as the price alone makes abundantly clear. We already reported on a prototype some time ago, but now it is actually available. The first thing that naturally catches the eye is its cheerfully coloured ‘pixelated’ design and, once switched on, its dimmable RGB LED lighting. So yes, it should fit rather nicely into a gaming room.
The Compass GT comes factory-fitted with Clearaudio’s own T1 tonearm, together with a special version of the N2 MM cartridge, finished in a suitably cheerful orange. According to the manufacturer, this combination allows highly dynamic game soundtracks—which have, of course, also been available on vinyl for quite some time now—to really come into their own. And naturally, Clearaudio promises that other genres of music will sound equally impressive.
The Clearaudio Compass GT can be ordered immediately for €1,490, with deliveries starting in October this year. One practical bonus: a matching transparent acrylic dust cover is included.
