Pro-Ject has now released its entry-level turntable in a Bluetooth version as well: the E1.2 BT, to be precise.
Admittedly, it sounds a little contradictory. Taking analogue vinyl and converting it into wireless Bluetooth at the very end of the chain. However, there is a sizeable group—probably consisting mainly of younger users—who value convenience over the ultimate (?) analogue listening experience. And many of them already own Bluetooth headphones and/or wireless speakers. In that case, a Bluetooth turntable is actually a perfectly logical addition if you fancy listening to some vinyl every now and then.
The E1.2 BT is mechanically identical to the Bluetooth-less E1.2. From the factory, it comes fitted with a Pick It MM E cartridge, featuring a conical diamond stylus. According to the manufacturer, this should result in a warm and ‘smooth’ sound with little background noise.
The Pro-Ject E1.2 BT is belt-driven and plays records at both 33 1/3 and 45rpm.
