Now this is something fun! Velodyne Acoustics has released its MiniVee X subwoofer in a transparent enclosure. See the bass, babe!
The Velodyne Acoustics MiniVee X is a compact subwoofer from the manufacturer’s range. Inside the enclosure is an active driver, assisted by a passive radiator, plus an amplifier delivering a maximum of 350 watts RMS. As for inputs, you can choose from RCA, LFE and XLR. Room adjustment is handled through the accompanying app, which allows you to control parameters including volume, crossover frequency, phase and, of course, room correction.
Normally, you do not get to see any of the internal hardware, which is actually rather interesting. However, that changes with the latest version featuring a transparent acrylic-glass enclosure. Now you can admire all that technology for yourself. An additional advantage of the transparent design is that the subwoofer blends into its surroundings a little more easily. At the same time, of course, it also makes for quite an eye-catcher.
