The brand-new Denon DP-500BT is a semi-automatic turntable with Bluetooth capabilities, including support for aptX.
The relatively minimalist appearance of the Denon DP-500BT should, we suspect, make it a good fit for just about any interior. This is a semi-automatic turntable featuring an S-shaped tonearm. An MM cartridge is supplied as standard, so the turntable is ready to play straight out of the box.
Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity with support for the aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive codecs, owners of wireless headphones or speakers can start listening without any additional fuss. Meanwhile, for potential buyers who would rather do without such modern gimmicks, a switchable phono preamplifier is built in. Integration with the HEOS ecosystem is also possible, allowing you to stream whatever record happens to be on the platter throughout your home.
Above all, this seems to be a device designed to meet the demand for convenience. In other words, it lets you enjoy your record collection, old or otherwise, without worrying too much about preserving that almost sacred analogue signal path.
The Denon DP-500BT costs €849 and will be available from November this year.
