Grado Signature S150

With the new Grado Signature S150, the American manufacturer is making its range of flagship headphones just a little more accessible!

As tradition dictates, the Grado Signature S150 is also an open-back headphone. According to the manufacturer, it incorporates technology borrowed from its considerably more expensive flagship siblings.

At the heart of the S150 are newly developed 44mm dynamic drivers, featuring diaphragms made from a paper-composite material. According to the American company, the frequency response extends from 16Hz to 34kHz, with a nominal impedance of 38Ω. Meanwhile, total harmonic distortion is less than 0.3% at 100dB.

The housing is made from a single piece of ABS, while the supplied F-style ear cushions form an integral part of the acoustic design.

The headphones come with a detachable cable, namely the equally new Grado Signature Bronze cable, featuring a separate 3.5mm connector for each earcup. At the other end, you’ll find a 3.5mm mini-jack, while the included 6.3mm adapter ensures compatibility with a wide range of audio equipment.

The Grado Signature S150 will be available from this month, with prices starting at $295 in the US. We suspect it’ll be somewhat more expensive over here. Alternative versions with different cables are also available, including balanced options. A longer cable is another possibility. However, whichever alternative you choose, the price will increase accordingly.
