German manufacturer Sonoro has introduced the compact Atron, which, according to the company, offers a surprisingly wide soundstage and plenty of features.
Essentially, the new Sonoro Atron is a compact all-in-one music system. Although you might not immediately realise it from its appearance, it is actually a stereo system. Two 3-inch bass drivers, assisted by a 4-inch passive radiator, and an upward-firing midrange/treble driver coupled to a specially developed acoustic lens are designed to produce a wide soundstage.
Meanwhile, a DSP provides what the manufacturer describes as ‘intelligent bass management’. Digital dispersion correction is also included, allowing the Atron to perform well regardless of where it is placed.
Let the Streaming Begin!
Built-in streaming capabilities, with support for music services including Spotify, Qobuz Connect and Tidal Connect, mean you can start listening straight away. Naturally, you will need a subscription to one or more of these services. In addition, the device supports Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth LE with Auracast. Sonoro’s own multiroom system is also supported via Audio-over-IP.
As for operation, you can choose between controls on the device itself, the supplied remote control, an app or a smart home system. And for those who still appreciate good old-fashioned radio, FM and DAB+ tuners are included. The Atron connects to your home network either wirelessly via Wi-Fi or through a wired Ethernet connection.
The Sonoro Atron costs €399 and is available in three colour combinations: Anthracite/Black, Pearl Grey/Silver and Sand/Cream.
