The Steinway Lyngdorf Model O is the latest generation of the manufacturer’s floorstanding loudspeaker that takes up relatively little floor space.
Despite their modest footprint, these speakers deliver a full-bodied, detailed and clear sound, according to the manufacturer. The updated Steinway Lyngdorf Model O features two mid-bass drivers and a passive bass radiator, with the latter reportedly providing generous low-frequency output. Naturally, a tweeter is also part of the design.
The speakers have been specifically designed for placement against a wall, allowing them to blend discreetly into almost any room. The idea is to connect them to one of Steinway Lyngdorf’s own amplifiers, creating a perfectly matched system. Steinway Lyngdorf refers to this concept as its ‘Integrated System Approach’. As part of this process, the loudspeaker’s characteristics are programmed into the amplifier’s built-in processor, which should result in optimised sound reproduction.
Consequently, the price of the new Model O speakers depends heavily on the particular system configuration you choose. They are available in a variety of finishes.
