The golden days for anyone who rides along on a Disney Plus subscription from friends or family are coming to an end. So they will have to purchase an abo themselves!
Netflix previously acted against “free-riding” family and friends. All persons who did not belong to a family were blocked. At Disney Plus, the same process has begun, CNBC reports. Whether Disney, like Netflix, makes an offer for free-riders is unknown at the time of writing. But if you don’t have an official subscription for yourself to Disney Plus, the free party will soon be over. The restrictions will be implemented in select countries starting in June. Starting in September this year, the rest of the world will also have to go through it.
The reason Disney Plus is taking this measure, we read in the linked article, is that the company wants to become profitable before the end of this year.
