LG is bringing the future of gaming to its smart TVs with the beta launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming — letting users play Xbox games without a console!
Owners of LG Smart TVs can now stream hundreds of high-quality games through the Xbox app with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The feature is rolling out in over 25 countries, including the Netherlands (1). From indie gems to blockbuster AAA titles, users can dive into the full Xbox library directly on their LG Smart TV.
Easy Access
The Xbox app is easily accessible via the Gaming Portal (2) and the LG App Store, allowing users to jump into gameplay right away with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. That means instant access to titles from Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard, Mojang, and Xbox Game Studios — all playable with just a compatible controller. The Xbox app is available on LG TVs and select smart monitors running webOS 24 or later (3), and will soon also be available on StanbyME displays.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, players can explore a dynamic catalog of games — from action-heavy titles like Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 to hits like Avowed, South of Midnight, and the highly anticipated Towerborne. Members can also stream select games they already own, such as NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy, offering even more flexibility.
4K Upscaling for Maximum Immersion
“LG remains committed to delivering the ultimate at-home entertainment experience through its advanced TVs and premium webOS platform,” the company states. “By partnering with Xbox and introducing the Xbox app, LG takes gaming to the next level — combining the precision of cutting-edge OLED TVs with the vivid, lifelike action of the newest QNED displays.”, so writes the manufacturer. Gameplay is (can be) upscaled to 4K for immersive visuals, while the intuitive LG Smart TV interface gives gamers easy access to a vast cloud-based library.
