The Marshall Heston 120 is the brand’s first-ever soundbar, expanding a lineup that—at least on the consumer front—has been best known for headphones and portable speakers.
Of course, Marshall originally made its name as a legendary stage brand, practically the go-to supplier of guitar amps and heavy-duty gear. But for many years now, the company has also been carving out a place in the consumer electronics market. Its headphones and portable speakers, known for both strong performance and iconic looks, are especially popular. Now, Marshall introduces a brand-new product category: the Heston 120 soundbar.
Inside, you’ll find a 5.2.1 speaker configuration with five full-range drivers, two tweeters, two mid-bass drivers, and two subwoofers. The system is powered by 11 Class D amplifiers, providing a combined peak output of 150 watts.
Versatile performance
The Marshall Heston 120 supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, making it a strong contender for cinematic audio. An eARC port ensures simple connection to TVs, while HDMI passthrough allows seamless integration of other HDMI sources. These passthroughs support 4K @120 Hz and Dolby Vision HDR, ensuring futureproof compatibility.
On the streaming side, the Heston 120 supports Google Cast, AirPlay, and Bluetooth. When it comes to music services, it can stream from Spotify and Tidal, with network connectivity available via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. As a bonus, Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are also supported.
Naturally, the Heston 120 is equipped with Marshall’s signature design features, blending classic rock aesthetics with modern tech. It will retail for $999.99 and is expected to ship soon.
