Audio Group Denmark presents its first truly purpose-built passive center speaker in the form of the Børresen Center3.
The new Børresen Center3 from Audio Group Denmark was developed in Denmark itself through a collaboration between Michael Børresen and Erik Rasmussen. It is the brand’s first dedicated center speaker, specifically designed for this role. In terms of drivers, two Børresen DCC5 Neo 5-inch mid/bass units are employed. Their cones are constructed from a three-layer Nomex honeycomb structure with a carbon fiber top layer. Graphene elements have also been added to help control resonance behavior, according to the manufacturer. High frequencies are handled by a Børresen RP-94 ribbon tweeter. The enclosure is made from thick hardwood laminate, and a matching cradle-style stand is included for easy setup. The entire unit is finished in a high-gloss black lacquer.
The passive Børresen Center3 offers a frequency response ranging from 45 Hz to 50 kHz, with an impedance of 8 ohms. The manufacturer recommends an amplifier power of more than 50 watts. The speaker is priced at €6,000.
