TRPTK: Pianist/composer Spee tours with insomnia program

The high-end record label TRPTK announces that pianist-composer Spee will be going on tour in the coming months, with an insomnity program.

As an audio enthusiast, you undoubtedly love live music too. If only to keep the ears sharp and always be able to compare correctly and merciless between “the real thing” and the better hi-fi installation. So, that TRPTK lets the world know that pianist-composer Spee will be touring soon is good news then!

Insomnia

The young Dutch pianist/composer Mattias Spee will tour this fall with a program on the theme of “insomnia.” As part of his nomination for the Dutch Classical Talent Award 2023/2024, he put together a program with which he will tour the major concert halls of the Netherlands in September and October. The playing dates are as follows:

Insomnia

The main part of the program is Spee’s own composition Insomnia, in which he gives voice to the experience of a sleepless night behind the piano. In his own words: “In the night, everything is under a magnifying glass. The human experience bursts at the seams when the world is asleep and the moon is shining. A sleepless night is like taking a journey through the extremes of all the emotions a human being can feel.“ In the play Insomnia, all the different stages of insomnia are lived through.

Lisa Weyrauther and Gijs Idema

Numerous composers, such as Chopin, Scriabin and Poulenc, have been inspired by the mysterious, elusive nature of the night. ‘Spee combines his own music with the nocturnes that have inspired him. In addition to well-known pieces by old masters, Spee will also perform music by two young talented composers; Spee challenged Lisa Weyrauther and Gijs Idema to write a new nocturne for this program,‘ said TRPTK.
