The Pixel Buds in-ears get a more user-friendly access to ANC settings via an update, which of course is always nice.
The Pixel Buds in-ears feature ANC. With the downside that its settings were only accessible via the app, rather deeply hidden in it. And that to adjust the function you always had to take out the smartphone and dive into the settings. Not really convenient if you are walking down the street and want to quickly hear what is going on around you. Through an update – on the phone, you do not need to update the earphones themselves – this is currently changing. If you are in the lucky possession of an Android 13 phone, updates for that ecosystem are slowly trickling in. Including a new feature for the Pixel Buds, which moves the ANC function to an easy accessible bar at the top of the companion app. So the app is still needed, but the ANC feature will be much quicker to reach.
