The new Meze Audio Empyrean II is a the latest incarnation of the Romanian manufacturer’s flagship headphones.
If you are looking for the ultimate over-ear headphones, the Meze Audio Empyrean II may be worth a try. Internally, the Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver design by Ukrainian Rinaro Isodynamics is used. According to the manufacturer, this should be a marked improvement over the original Empyrian. Interestingly, further, the headphones can look forward to a long service life. And this is due to the fact that every part of the Empyrean II can be unscrewed and replaced if necessary.
The Meze Audio Empyrean II weighs – without ear cushions – 385 grams. The ear pads themselves are made of a mix consisting of premium leather and Alcantara. The latter is a synthetic suede-like feeling material. As you can see below, the headphones don’t come cheap. But you get a nice “hardshell” carrying case with them. You also have a choice of silver on copper cables, where you can even select the jack. Choose from 3.5 mm, 6.3 mm, 2.5 mm, 4.4 mm or 4-pin XLR here.
The Audio Empyrean II costs €2999
