Looking for great-sounding music on the go? The new FiiO M27 portable music player might be just the thing!
It’s certainly not a budget pick, this new FiiO M27 portable music player. But — on paper — it promises plenty of value for the money. At its core are two ESS ES9039SPRO DAC chips. The headphone amplifier delivers up to 10 watts of power, which, according to the manufacturer, is more than enough to drive even the most demanding headphones with ease. Internally, separate power supplies are used to feed individual components of the player. This is said to ensure a cleaner signal path and purer sound. On top of that, the FiiO Digital Audio Purification System is onboard, designed to reduce jitter and guarantee precise timing.
Plenty of potential storage
The FiiO M27 portable music player features two microSD card slots, each supporting up to 2 TB of extra storage. Onboard storage is already a generous 256 GB. For headphone outputs, you can choose between 6.35 mm, 4.5 mm, and 3.5 mm connectors. And if you prefer to listen wirelessly — though that arguably misses the point — Bluetooth is available, with support for aptX Lossless, LE Audio, and Auracast codecs.
Available from autumn this year, the M27 will retail at $3,500. It’s not yet listed on the manufacturer’s website, but it has already appeared on their Facebook page (see screenshot above and earlier link in this article).
