The new Final Audio DX6000 open-back headphones mark the debut of a brand-new series from the Japanese manufacturer.

Given the price tag, it’s safe to say this is a high-end model. At the heart of the DX6000 is a 50 mm driver made from very thin magnesium — a material that weighs roughly a third less than aluminum while offering excellent stiffness and favorable internal damping properties. This combination helps reduce distortion. That said, manufacturing a diaphragm from magnesium is no easy feat, but Final has succeeded in doing so. The open headphone housing is made from an aluminum-magnesium alloy.

Despite Final’s reputation for planar-magnetic models, the DX6000 is a dynamic headphone. It has an impedance of 47 Ohms and comes with a 3-meter OFC cable terminated with a 4-pin XLR connector.

The Final Audio DX6000 is priced at €1999.
