We have had to wait a while for it, but Sennheiser has now officially announced the new Momentum 5.
The new Sennheiser Momentum 5 comes packed with interesting new features. For starters, the over-ear headphones are Hi-Res certified and equipped with an easily replaceable 700 mAh battery. Speaking of that battery: it delivers up to 57 hours of playback on a full charge—with the improved ANC enabled, to be precise. Those are seriously impressive numbers.
Another notable aspect is the Momentum 5’s upgrade potential. According to Sennheiser, an upcoming firmware update will add Dolby Atmos with head tracking support. And while the headphones initially support “only” Bluetooth 5.4, a future firmware update is promised to bring Bluetooth 6.0 compatibility.
The familiar 42 mm drivers remain, inspired by the brand’s acclaimed 600 series. aptX Lossless is onboard, alongside an 8-band equalizer and a Sound Personalization engine. In short, there is plenty for fans of the Momentum lineup to look forward to.
The Sennheiser Momentum 5 will be released on June 16 at a price of $399.99. Buyers can choose between black, white and Denim finishes.
