FiiO is expected to launch its ultra-slim CP11 portable cassette player towards the end of this year, aimed squarely at enthusiasts of the format.
Cassettes have been making quite a comeback for some time now. And for anyone who still swears by the good old format, FiiO has announced a new portable cassette player. The CP11 will be the first model in which the manufacturer uses its newly developed ultra-slim cassette mechanism.
Interestingly, that mechanism was actually intended for the upcoming CP15, although FiiO is apparently still encountering a few technical issues with that model. However, the company stresses that development of the CP15 has certainly not been abandoned. The latter is intended to become the more high-end player of the two.
The FiiO CP11 features, among other things, a brushless motor and new servo control, together with modified electronics compared with the existing CP13. In addition to the familiar 3.5mm mini-jack, the CP11 also comes with Bluetooth, allowing you to listen wirelessly if desired.
Naturally, a rechargeable battery is built in as well, with charging handled via USB-C. The player will be available in Cream, Green, Red, Black and Silver.
At the time of writing, the price of the upcoming FiiO CP11 has yet to be announced. Moreover, the player does not appear to be listed on the manufacturer’s website just yet. It has, however, already made an appearance on FiiO’s Facebook page, which is also where the screenshot shown above originated.
