Cyrus Audio has announced that its new, fully integrated 80 AMP – new in terms of appearance as well, incidentally – is now available.
With the full-width Cyrus 80 AMP integrated amplifier, the British audio brand says it is taking an important new step in the further development of its product portfolio. According to Cyrus, the 80 AMP combines ‘the familiar Cyrus focus on musical performance with high-quality streaming and extensive connectivity, all wrapped up in an entirely new design’.
The 80 AMP delivers 150 watts per channel in Class A/B and features integrated BluOS streaming, a high-quality ESS Sabre DAC, Roon Ready functionality and support for high-resolution audio. In addition, there is support for AirPlay 2 and HDMI eARC, as well as a high-quality adjustable MM/MC phono input. With four analogue inputs, balanced XLR connections, USB-B and optical and coaxial digital inputs, the amplifier can accommodate a wide range of both digital and analogue sources.
A New Direction for Cyrus
‘At the same time, the introduction of the 80 AMP marks a new phase for Cyrus. The new form factor provides room for a more extensive amplifier architecture and modern functionality, while retaining the recognisable British design philosophy,’ the manufacturer writes.
Following the previously launched 40 Series, moreover, the 80 AMP is only the beginning, Cyrus promises: ‘Cyrus is currently working on a further expansion of the model range in this new design language. Over the coming period, this will result in a new generation of Cyrus components that form a coherent whole, both visually and technically. As always with Cyrus, one principle remains at the heart of everything: reproducing music as faithfully as possible. The 80 AMP is entirely designed, developed and manufactured in Great Britain, underlining Cyrus’s strong commitment to British engineering and manufacturing.’
The Cyrus 80 AMP is available now through selected Cyrus dealers, which can be found on the Linear HiFi website. Alternatively, you can experience the 80 Series ‘live’ during the Dutch Audio Event in Room 110.
