We tested these big boys on the cinema side in combination with a Roon-compatible Minidsp streamer that outputs AES digital to Joeps Goliath speakers. The speakers are not connected to a filter: everything goes directly into the wall socket. The equalizer was initially turned off. Later it was adjusted a bit to the room: -2dB on the bass, -2dB around 8 KHz and a slight roll-off of the treble, because this tweeter can be quite fierce at shorter distances. Later, it turns out that these settings also provide a pretty flat result in our room.
