The Primare A35.2 power amplifier is only the second Class D amplifier to really please us. The first was the much more expensive SPEC RSA-M99 so that’s saying something. Lots of power but also great insight and across the board neutral. But also fun. It is fuel efficient and plays “cool as a cucumber”. It sounds good right away and has some handy features. This power amplifier does very little wrong and hardly modifies the signal. The only noticeable element is the subsonic bass coming out of your speakers.
We definitely see the Primare PRE35 Prisma in combination with the A35.2 but equally on a pair of active speakers for a great minimal setup. The PRE35 is for the enthusiast who does not necessarily want a separate dac or streamer but prefers a total package. Important to note is that both units can be easily integrated into a system without leaving too many traces. With a separate phonostage, the R35 for example, a turntable can easily be added.
