We have some nice stuff from Germany. Again. And they are – again – from Nubert. This brand is also fully committed to active loudspeakers and they have again added their own twist, pardon Schwung to it with the Nubert X-4000 RC active monitor speaker. We’re going to check them out!
The Nubert RC series is new and currently includes four models: the X-3000 and X-4000 monitor (bookshelves) and the X-6000 and X-8000 floorstanders. The latter contains no less than four Class D amplifiers, each driving a driver. Each monitor in the RC series has a wide range of digital and analogue inputs: AES (XLR connection), dual optical and dual coaxial, USB and Bluetooth 5. Analog in balanced and RCA. There is an analog output for a subwoofer and a USB power outlet.
X-Connect: multiroom
The RC monitors have built-in X-connect functionality that allows you to create a multiroom system through a networked system designed by Nubert. We recently tested this system and were impressed; you can read our findings read here.
Nubert X-4000
This monitor is a two-way system where each driver is powered by a 180W Class D amplifier. The monitor is stand-alone in terms of amplification; so no speaker output feeding the other speaker.
With this active setup, you need to feed a line signal to the left and right speakers. As usual, Nubert supplies every conceivable cable that could be needed: a 3-meter power cord, USB cable, digital cables (optical and coaxial), the familiar red/white ‘cord’ (analog RCA) and an adapter that also gives the Nubert X-4000 an HDMI connection. Neat.
The X-4000 is finished in black MDF and weighs 8.8 kg.
