Black Friday returns on 27 November, an event that an ever-growing part of the world now takes part in. And Record Store Day is joining the celebrations once again!
Black Friday is a typically American phenomenon. It takes place on the day after Thanksgiving, which always falls on a Thursday. Most employees in the US have the following Friday off, making it the traditional start of the Christmas shopping season. Naturally, retailers and major chains are only too happy to capitalise on this opportunity, and thus Black Friday was born. Gradually, businesses in other countries also began to see the appeal of such an event, and the phenomenon has long since become familiar in various European countries as well.
Meanwhile, Record Store Day (RSD) has established its own Black Friday tradition. The 2026 edition takes place on 27 November and, as usual, RSD will be releasing a whole range of special editions to mark the occasion. To find out which titles will be available, you can check the dedicated page on the Dutch Record Store Day website or visit the international site.
