Good news from the world of music streaming: Qobuz Connect has officially launched, allowing you to stream directly from a wide range of devices.
Audiophiles in particular — though by no means exclusively — have long sworn by the French music streaming service Qobuz. That French origin may become even more relevant in the near future, as renewed trade tariffs from the U.S. could significantly drive up the cost of U.S.-based services like Tidal. But that aside, one of the few downsides of Qobuz until now was the lack of a “Connect”-style feature — a way to play music natively from a device without the need for additional external gear. That limitation is now a thing of the past: Qobuz Connect has officially arrived.
Firmware Update Required
Before you can take advantage of Qobuz Connect, you’ll likely need to check for a firmware update for your device — whether it’s a standalone streamer or one built into an amplifier. The Connect feature must be supported in the device’s software. Once that’s in place, you can stream lossless audio in at least CD quality, and up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, without any need for external devices.
As always, Qobuz gives access to a broad selection of audiophile-grade tracks, labels, albums, curated playlists and much more — but also plenty of mainstream content. From pop to hard rock, Qobuz Connect is ready to deliver whatever you’re in the mood for.
