The Wattson Audio Madison LE is the Swiss brand’s flagship streamer, designed to delight true audiophiles.
Don’t expect unnecessary frills, touchscreens, or an overload of buttons — the Madison LE embodies pure simplicity. But don’t be fooled by its minimalist appearance: this is a high-end streamer through and through. According to the manufacturer, it was created with a single goal in mind — to deliver exceptional sound quality in its purest form. An ultra-quiet noise floor and a robust output stage both contribute to that goal. The output stage is engineered to drive power amplifiers directly, though the streamer also pairs beautifully with integrated amplifiers.
In terms of sources, streaming is of course supported, but S/PDIF digital inputs are available as well. Control is handled via the dedicated Wattson App, which supports major streaming platforms including Tidal (Connect), Qobuz (Connect), Roon, and more.
Dual-balanced differential design
Inside the Wattson Audio Madison LE — with “LE” standing for Lounge Edition — everything is built around a fully dual-balanced differential topology. At its core lies Wattson’s own patented streaming engine, developed around TI’s powerful Sitara processor. The software, too, is developed entirely in-house. The unit supports PCM up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD up to DSD256. For headphone users, a dedicated output is also provided. Finally, the precision-machined chassis reflects the meticulous Swiss craftsmanship the brand is known for.
