Spotify has announced another increase in subscription prices in the United States, this time by exactly one dollar.
In less than 18 months, American users are facing a second consecutive price hike for Spotify subscriptions. An individual plan will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. The Duo subscription will become $2 more expensive, while the student plan will also rise by $1.
Although this latest increase currently affects only the US (in Europe, users already pay a steep €12.99 per month for an individual subscription), the ongoing price hikes by the streaming service are also a cause for concern elsewhere. This is especially true when considering that competing services such as Tidal not only offer significantly higher audio quality, but also charge lower subscription fees.
