While iOS (and iPadOS) 26.3 has only just been released, work is already well underway behind the scenes on version 26.4 — and it includes news for Apple Music users.
One of the highlights of i(Pad)OS 26.4 will undoubtedly be the addition of AI-generated playlists in Apple Music. The concept is straightforward (and likely familiar to Spotify users): enter a prompt in natural language and AI will compile a playlist that matches your request. So if you feel like drifting away to some smooth 1970s disco, simply describe what you’re in the mood for — and the system does the rest. Provided, of course, that you and the AI understand each other.
For now, iOS and iPadOS 26.4 remain in beta, meaning they are still in the testing phase. You can sign up to receive beta versions, but installing them on devices you rely on daily is generally not advisable — for obvious reasons. In short: a little patience is required. And keep in mind that features introduced during beta testing do not always make it into the final public release.
