Grimm Audio Joins JPLAY Certified

JPLAY has announced that Grimm Audio has joined the JPLAY Certified partner programme, marking another important milestone for the company.

JPLAY says it is “proud” to welcome Grimm Audio to its certification programme. The Dutch manufacturer’s acclaimed MU1 and MU2 music players have been extensively tested for stability, compatibility and performance with the JPLAY app, ensuring seamless integration and the highest possible sound quality.

The certification coincides with a major technical milestone for the Polish-developed music software. JPLAY 1.4.3, now available on the App Store, introduces support for UPnP Eventing. According to the software developers, this functionality was created in close collaboration with the Grimm Audio team.

Full bidirectional control

As a result, the Grimm Audio MU1 and MU2 now support full bidirectional control through JPLAY. Users can start and stop the MU1 and MU2 from within the app, while the app itself can also be controlled directly from the music players using their main rotary control, infrared remote and other onboard controls. Both devices remain perfectly synchronised at all times.

For Grimm Audio products, Eventing is enabled by default within JPLAY, allowing MU1 and MU2 owners to enjoy the full feature set immediately without any additional configuration.

Working with the Grimm Audio team has been a pleasure — they care about the details the way we do. With Eventing in place, the MU1 and MU2 and JPLAY now behave as one integrated system, whichever way you prefer to control your music,” said Marcin Ostapowicz, founder of JPLAY.

We love to offer our customers a rich user experience and so we are thrilled that JPLAY now offers full integration with the MU1 and MU2. JPLAY is without doubt one of the finest hi-fi apps on the market and it’s great that it became a natural extension of our products,” said Eelco Grimm of Grimm Audio.

Beyond Eventing, version 1.4.3 also introduces Direct Disk Playback for HQPlayer and MinimServer setups, improved HQPlayer playback, new Queue Radio modes and a range of bug fixes and performance improvements. The update is available now as a free download for existing users via the App Store.

About the JPLAY App

JPLAY is an innovative hi-fi application designed to provide music lovers and audiophiles with the ultimate streaming experience. The software allows users to connect to virtually any streamer or network DAC on the market without requiring a dedicated core, making music playback simple and free from complicated configuration.

The app integrates seamlessly with Qobuz, TIDAL, HIGHRESAUDIO, HQPlayer and local music libraries via UPnP servers. Users can combine all of their music into a single library or access each streaming service and music server individually. A lightning-fast contextual search function and intelligent radio feature also make discovering new music effortless.

One of JPLAY’s key strengths is its extensive optimisation and fully native iOS programming. This enables exceptionally fast and responsive operation compared with many other hi-fi apps. In addition, JPLAY minimises network traffic between the app and the audio endpoint, reducing network noise and further improving sound quality.

JPLAY for iOS is available through the App Store and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs.
