Chord BerTTi stereo amplifier

Chord has unveiled its new stereo power amplifier BerTTi, it (she?) replaces predecessor TToby (those nomenclatures…).

The Chord BerTTi has technology on board derived from the even higher ended ULTIMA series. It’s is a fully balanced stereo amplifier with a maximum output of 2 x 75 watts into 8 ohms. As for the aforementioned ULTIMA technology, among other things, ‘dual feed forward error correction’ is provided. According to the manufacturer, this ensures constant monitoring of the signal and, if necessary, correction even before the output stage. At the bottom line, this should lead to a more faithful reproduction of sound. The MOSFET-equipped output stage should – according to Chord – have no trouble driving any speaker whatsoever. From bookshelf speakers to difficult to drive columns: it can do it all.

XLR or RCA

In terms of inputs, you have the choice of balanced XLR connections or more traditional RCA unbalanced inputs. Furthermore, a pair of speaker terminals is of course provided to satisfy output needs. The Chord BerTTi is available in Jett Black and Argent Silver, at a price of £3995.
