The new Luxman L-509Z is the Japanese manufacturer’s new flagship, so that promises something.
With the Luxman L-509Z you get an almost 30-kilogram flagship in the house. This integrated amplifier features the most recently developed LIFES amplifier circuit by Luxman. For those familiar with the brand: this is the successor to the ODNF design. LIFES should lead to even better sound reproduction, with particular mention of the quietness. Furthermore, tone control is provided, with dials for high, low and mid. You can connect two speaker pairs that can be switched at the push of a button. The maximum output power available wires 2 x 120 watts into 8 ohms and 2 x 220 watts into 4 ohms. All this is encased in a tough and sturdy enclosure, in ‘modern retro’ style.
MM and MC phono preamplifier
The Luxman L-509Z features an array of inputs and outputs, both cinch and XLR. Handy is the built-in phono preamp that can handle both MM and MC elements. Headphone listeners also get their money’s worth thanks to the headphone output. Choose from 6.3 mm or 4.4 mm. Included is a remote control that can also control recent Luxman CD players.
Remains as always the price: the Luxman L-509Z will cost you €12990.
Mijn grote ergernis: alleen bass en treble knoppen (of in een app). Luxman begrijpt het gelukkig: bass/mids/treble. Alleen niet te betalen.
Please, keep it in English when reacting to English articles. We have a Dutch version as well.
