Silent Angel Munich MU network streamer

According to the Chinese manufacturer, their new Silent Angel Munich MU streamer is intended for audiophiles who demand only the best.

Let’s face it: the new Silent Angel Munich SU doesn’t put you in the front row for a dime. On paper, however, you do get a lot in return. The streamer is based on an ESS-Sabre DAC chip and packaged in an unexciting enclosure. Should you want to, you can also use your own external DAC. Various digital outputs are at your disposal for this purpose: AES/EBU, I2S, S/PDIF and USB. If you opt for the internal DAC, its analog signal is available via Cinch and XLR. Expansion of the internal storage is possible – up to 8 TB – as desired; an NVMe module is used for this purpose.

You control the Silent Angel Munich MU entirely via an app, available for both Android and iOS. Remains the question of whether in these times you want to unleash a Chinese device – no matter how high-end – on your home or business network. That choice is entirely up to you. The Munich MU costs €2599.

  1. “Remains the question of whether in these times you want to unleash a Chinese device…”

    That raises obvious questions:

    1) Given that it’s been substantiated the U.S. NSA has been embedding surveillance tools in all sorts of computer related equipment made for export, and for awhile (at least) previously even in equipment produced in China, where are the same qualms about American made equipment?

    2) Given that the use of Chinese sourced parts, if not more extensive Chinese manufacture, is quite common in high end audio products developed and sold by Western companies (for example), why haven’t your qualms applied to those too?
