A record weight can be quite useful. It ensures better contact between the record and the turntable, and also helps to flatten out records, which is ideal for a piece of vinyl that’s not perfectly flat. Although there are, of course, limits to the achievable flattening effect. In any case, now there is the Clearaudio Performance record weight, specifically designed and developed for the Performance DC turntable from the same brand. At the bottom, you’ll find a Teflon bushing, which makes it very easy to place. The record weight itself is made of aluminum and weighs 332 grams. As mentioned, the Performance is designed for their in-house turntables in various configurations, equipped with CMB (Ceramic Magnetic Bearing) and Clearaudio’s DC motors.
