From the very beginning in 2017, the Wheel has stood out as a unique turntable. Now, Miniot takes things a step further with the new Wheel 3!
To be fair, the Dutch manufacturer hasn’t revealed much yet about their upcoming Miniot Wheel 3. At the time of writing, only a photo of the back is available — but even that already looks quite appealing. Still, Miniot has shared a number of highlights about the device, which, once again, is vertically oriented.
First, there’s what they describe as a “revolutionary” optical cartridge, which operates without coils or magnets. This, according to Miniot, allows for the purest form of analog audio. A custom preamplifier is built-in to support this new technology. The motor — an axial flux direct-drive unit — is manufactured in-house. Rotation speed is measured and regulated optically. Compared to earlier Wheels, the tonearm has been completely redesigned from the ground up.
The Miniot Wheel 3 has been engineered with an aesthetic that makes your spinning vinyl appear to float in mid-air, according to the manufacturer. This remarkable turntable will be available starting in June this year. Early adopters can order it for €2300; the regular price will be €2900. Keep an eye on Miniot’s blog, where more information about the Wheel 3 will gradually be released over the coming weeks!
