Straight from the Bang & Olufsen Atelier come the striking Beolab 90 Phantom and Mirage Editions.
Bang & Olufsen is already known for its distinctly styled products as standard. Whether you love that design language or not is, of course, a matter of personal taste. But then there is the brand’s Atelier, where designers are given free rein to push boundaries even further. The latest results from that creative space are the Beolab 90 Phantom and Mirage Editions.
In these versions, the Danish flagship loudspeaker receives an even more extreme makeover. The Phantom Edition features semi-transparent PVD metal mesh, allowing the underlying speaker structure to remain visible while creating a holographic effect when viewed from different angles. The design is enhanced with carbon-fibre accents and a pearl-blasted aluminium skeleton that completes the look.
Sapphire blue and magenta
The Mirage Edition (shown in the screenshot above) is based on a “hypnotic” fabric that appears to ‘dance’ between sapphire blue and magenta hues. Five precision-machined aluminium elements with custom gradients, combined with flowing textures that depict sound waves, complete this version.
In total, Bang & Olufsen plans to release five of these Masterpieces; the Phantom and Mirage Editions represent numbers two and three in that series. Each version will be produced in an extremely limited run of just ten pairs.
