At ELAC, it’s a year of celebration: the German manufacturer turns 100 this year. In a time when companies come and go, that’s indeed a milestone worth celebrating!
On September 1, 1926, ELECTROACUSTIC GmbH was founded, later renamed ELAC Electroacustic GmbH. The loudspeaker manufacturer is still going strong today and is doing very well. And, as befits such a significant anniversary, a range of special products is being launched to mark the occasion. One example is the NAVA 100, the brand’s first portable Bluetooth speaker (shown in the screenshot above). At its heart is a 3-inch full-range driver, flanked by two passive radiators. The design was created by New York–based fashion label Adsum. This isn’t the first collaboration with Adsum either; they previously handled the design of the Debut Connex DCB41 Adsum.
But there’s much more planned for this anniversary year. Among the upcoming releases are, according to ELAC, a new edition of an almost forgotten cultural classic, a new model in a segment that once played a central role in ELAC’s lineup, a special version of an all-time classic, and a literally “big” newcomer. What exactly all of this will turn out to be remains to be seen. The advice for now: keep a close eye on the manufacturer’s website, where more and more details are sure to be revealed over time.
