The Belgian company Barco, known for its medical technology solutions, is acquiring Marquee, the group that includes the audio brands NAIM and Focal.
This marks another notable takeover in the high-end audio industry. This time it concerns Marquee, which will be acquired by Barco, a Belgian manufacturer best known for its medical and visualization technology. The move may sound somewhat familiar to industry observers. However, Barco already had a presence in the entertainment sector, alongside its enterprise activities.
Technically speaking, the acquisition concerns VerVent, the parent company under which Marquee operates. Marquee in turn oversees the well-known audio brands NAIM and Focal. Barco has expressed strong enthusiasm about the deal, as the company aims to expand into integrated audiovisual solutions for both home and professional environments.
What this acquisition will ultimately mean for the brands that now come under the Belgian umbrella remains to be seen. As soon as more details become available, we will undoubtedly hear more about it.
