Unison Research has introduced its newest flagship in the form of the Unico DM (v2) power amplifier, a design based around tube technology.

The new Unison Research Unico DM v2 is a power amplifier built in a dual-mono configuration. As expected from this manufacturer, vacuum tubes are part of the design. The amplifier also features A.S.H.A (Analog Synchronized Hybrid Amplification) technology. According to Unison, this approach delivers the sonic character of a Class A amplifier, while maintaining the efficiency of a Class AB circuit.

The amplifier provides a maximum output of 220 watts into 8 ohms and 340 watts into 4 ohms. For those who want even more power, the amplifier can be configured in bridged mono mode, delivering up to 650 watts.

The chassis is solidly constructed, featuring a 15 mm thick front panel milled from a solid block of aluminium. Buyers can choose between Midnight Black or Velvet Gold finishes. Power is supplied by a 750 VA toroidal transformer. The input stage is where the tubes come into play, using ECC82 / 12AU7 Gold Lion tubes operating in pure Class A.

The Unison Research Unico DM is available immediately with a retail price of €8,499.
