Strictly speaking, the new Lyngdorf SB-75 soundbar is more of a disguised loudspeaker designed for use in a high-quality stereo setup.
At Lyngdorf, they may have thought: a soundbar looks sleek and elegant — but it rarely delivers true hi-fi performance. The result is something of a “best of both worlds” solution: a stereo two-way speaker housed in the form factor of a soundbar, intended to be connected to an integrated or power amplifier.
The advantage is clear: for a full stereo experience, you only need one compact speaker (or soundbar). The SB-75 is equipped with four 18 cm long-throw woofers with aluminium cones and two 1.1-inch tweeters. The impedance per channel is 4 ohms, and the maximum power handling is rated at 250 watts.
Naturally, the newcomer can be mounted below a television, but it also performs perfectly well without one. In any case, it offers a discreet and space-saving solution.
The SB-75 is expected to become available from April this year. Pricing has not yet been announced at the time of writing.
