TRPTK presents new albums

TRPTK announces the release of two new albums, by Ramon van Engelenhoven and Alexandra Kaptein. As always, something special!

The first new album announced by TRPTK is Korngold: A portrait for piano (March 30) by Ramon van Engelenhoven. It features works by Austrian composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957), who bridged the gap between classical music, opera and film scores. The selection on this album combines Korngold’s best-known film music arranged for piano by Ramon himself, as well as Korngold’s second piano sonata, which he wrote when he was only 12 years old! With his own arrangements, Ramon delves into the composer’s world and illustrates his diverse work, “from concert hall to cinema.”

Alexandra Kaptein

Also fresh off the press is the album Liszt: Lebenswanderung (April 12) by Alexandra Kaptein. This album is dedicated to Franz Liszt and his transcriptions for songs by Franz Schubert and Robert Franz. “Almost half of his oeuvre consists of arrangements of music by other composers, and song transcriptions are a specific subcategory. Here Liszt creates ‘Lieder ohne Worte’ or ‘songs without words’ because the poetry and text, which are crucial elements of the songs, are missing.” – Excerpt from Liszt’s liner notes: Lebenswanderung.
