The new Yamaha YH-L500A headphones are specially designed to appeal to home theater users, thanks to the brand’s proprietary Sound Field Technology.
Yamaha describes the new YH-L500A as “Your Personal Theater in a Headphone”. The headphones aim to deliver spatial, cinema-style sound, made possible by in-house developed Sound Field Technology that creates a 3D audio experience regardless of the source. Two listening modes are available: Cinema Mode and Music Mode, each tailored to its respective use case.
Naturally, we’re talking about a wireless Bluetooth headphone. According to Yamaha, the design prioritizes long-term comfort for extended listening sessions. When fully charged, the built-in battery provides up to 20 hours of playback. That’s slightly less than some other Bluetooth headphones, but since these are primarily intended for home use, that likely won’t be an issue—there’s always a power outlet nearby, after all.
Supported Bluetooth codecs include aptX Adaptive, AAC, and the standard SBC. Multipoint functionality allows you to connect to multiple sources simultaneously. The Yamaha YH-L500A is priced at $229.95.
