Not everyone has – or wants – a wired network throughout the house. The new Devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 next provides a strong and stable WiFi signal without the need for extra cabling.
With the Magic 2 WiFi 6 next, Devolo expands its high-end Powerline portfolio. The new flagship Powerline adapter from the Aachen-based networking specialist enables wireless transmission speeds of up to 3000 Mbps. Thanks to the G.hn Powerline technology, the new Magic adapter transmits internet signals through walls and ceilings. The result: a stable and high-speed mesh WiFi network with wide coverage throughout the home.
Up to 3000 Mbps with the Devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 next
Smooth video conferencing, fast online gaming, and interference-free streaming – today’s home networks must handle ever-increasing bandwidth demands, especially when multiple data-heavy applications run simultaneously. Devolo meets this challenge with the Magic 2 WiFi 6 next adapter, which enables wireless connectivity for end devices at speeds of up to 3000 Mbps.
That’s a significant jump from the already-fast 1800 Mbps top speed of the previous model. According to Devolo, this upgrade is “a logical evolution for demanding users who can’t get enough speed from their WiFi Powerline home network.” The familiar Devolo convenience remains: the new adapter integrates seamlessly with other devices in the Magic product family and can be easily managed via the Home Network app.
Modern WiFi Power
Devolo adds: “The powerful WiFi technology with mesh functionality and support for the latest WiFi 6 standard remains unchanged. With intelligent features that optimize data flow automatically, everyday digital activities run smoothly – from stable video calls and lag-free gaming to enjoying 4K or even 8K movie nights.”
Thanks to an optimized Target Wake Time (TWT), the new Magic 2 WiFi 6 next allows end devices that don’t require a constant connection to “sleep” longer, conserving power. Devolo’s PowerSafe Technology also ensures that when the Powerline connection isn’t needed, the adapter automatically switches to a low-energy mode.
Mesh WiFi for Greater Online Enjoyment
A mesh system creates a wireless network of multiple access points that communicate with each other. The result is a seamless WiFi network with smart features. The Magic 2 WiFi 6 next supports several mesh functions to ensure uninterrupted and efficient wireless performance:
- Airtime Fairness allocates more connection time to faster devices, improving overall network performance.
- Access Point Steering enables smooth handoffs between access points as users move through the house.

- Band Steering automatically distributes devices between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for optimal connection.
- Beamforming directs the signal more precisely toward devices, strengthening connections like to a tablet or laptop.
- Client Steering improves WiFi roaming by allowing compatible devices to connect to the fastest available access point.
- Config Sync synchronizes WiFi settings across all Magic access points and can even adopt router login data – ensuring a single WiFi name and password for all devices.
- Bidirectional Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) uses multi-antenna technology to send and receive multiple data streams to and from multiple devices simultaneously – essential in households using several real-time internet services.
- OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) is a hallmark of WiFi 6, allowing multiple devices or applications to communicate over a single channel efficiently by breaking the radio channel into smaller frequency units. This boosts speed, especially for small data packets.
Strong Combo: Powerline Meets WiFi 6
Devolo emphasizes the key advantage of its solution compared to other WiFi 6 products: “The adapters communicate with each other via Powerline technology, using the home’s electrical wiring. So while devices connect wirelessly where needed, the core network benefits from a wired backbone. That makes the combination of Powerline and WiFi 6 ideal for larger homes or those with multiple floors. Walls, ceilings, and even water pipes can greatly weaken purely wireless signals.”
Easy Installation
Devolo promises that setting up the Magic 2 WiFi 6 next is simple: “Getting a Magic network up and running takes just a few steps. After plugging in the first adapter, any additional Magic adapters plugged in within the next two minutes will automatically connect – no button press needed. Then, connect one adapter to the router via LAN cable, and the system is ready to go.
If needed, the user-friendly Home Network app will guide you through the process with an intuitive setup wizard. From your work computer to the smart TV in the living room, every device will be reliably connected – either through strong mesh WiFi or the dual Gigabit Ethernet ports available on each adapter.”
