The KEF Muo has entered a brand-new generation, bringing significant improvements over the original 2015 model.
The second-generation KEF Muo takes its design cues from the brand’s far more expensive Muon speakers—thankfully at a much more affordable price point. This portable speaker also introduces numerous upgrades compared to the original from ten years ago. Battery life, for instance, has been extended to up to 24 hours on a single charge. Highly practical is the IP67 water- and dust-resistance rating, which means you can now use the Muo worry-free outdoors—or even in the bathroom.
The acoustic design has also been reworked. It now features a new “racetrack”-shaped driver, delivering lower distortion and improved bass performance. In addition, KEF’s in-house P-Flex Surround Technology, borrowed from the KC62 and KC92 subwoofers, has been implemented, alongside a 19 mm dome tweeter. Supporting all of this is KEF’s proprietary Music Integrity Engine DSP unit.
On the connectivity side, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive is available, along with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. You can pair two KEF Muo units for stereo playback, while Auracast enables multiroom functionality.
The Muo is available in a wide range of colors and comes with a carrying strap. Pricing is set at $249.
